Mumbai, 21 Jun (Commoditiescontrol): The global nickel market transitioned to a surplus of 1,000 metric tons in April, reversing a deficit of 1,300 metric tons recorded in March, according to data released by the International Nickel Study Group (INSG) on Friday.

Despite the surplus in April, the figure is significantly lower compared to the excess supply of 5,900 tons observed in the same month last year.

For the first four months of 2024, the nickel market exhibited a surplus of 22,600 tons, which is a decline from the 35,000-ton surplus during the same period in 2023.
