Mumbai, June 26 (CommoditiesControl) – Castor seed prices in Gujarat remained firm today, supported by limited arrivals and steady demand. Despite yesterday's rain affecting supply, the market saw a slight increase of Rs 5 per 20 kg.
Market participants indicate that the market outlook is contingent on future selling patterns and June's export figures.
Today's arrivals in Gujarat totalled approximately 45,000 bags (1 bag = 35 kg), with an additional 9,000 bags coming from Rajasthan. Direct mill purchases accounted for 4,000 bags, resulting in a total arrival of around 58,000 bags. Castor seed prices closed at Rs 1120-1135 per 20 kg.
Futures market improvements prompted price adjustments for Milovalon. Jagana Sheeperso closed at Rs 1157, N.K. at Rs 1170, and Kandla at Rs 1158 per 20 kg. Castor oil also saw price changes, with Reddy-Reddy on Kandla delivery Sharat closing at Rs 1164-1165 per 10 kg.
As of 4:47 PM on NCDEX, the July castor contract was trading at Rs 5764, up by Rs 9, while the August contract was at Rs 5824 per quintal, up by Rs 19.
The castor seed market in Gujarat is currently experiencing a period of stability, with prices holding steady due to limited arrivals. The market's future trajectory will be determined by upcoming selling trends and export data.
