New Delhi, June 25 (Commoditiescontrol) – Mentha oil prices remained flat in the physical markets on Wednesday amid normal activities, following a considerable drop in the previous session. Mentha oil futures also traded nearly flat at the local bourse. According to market analysts, while there is consistent demand for mentha oil from overseas markets, local industrial demand remains weak.
In Chandausi, mentha oil prices were quoted at Rs 943-945 per kg. In Barabanki, prices were steady at Rs 900 per kg.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), the mentha oil futures contract for July delivery increased by Rs 0.6, reaching Rs 916 per kg, with an open interest of 499 and a volume of 108. The June delivery contract rose by Rs 5.5 to Rs 904.9 per kg, with an open interest of 23 and a volume of 1.
Mentha Oil contract for JUN delivery settled at Rs 904.9/quintal showing an rise of Rs 5.5 over previous close of Rs 899.4/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 904.9-904.9 for the day. Open interest was simillar by 0 MT to 23 MT, while trading volume decreased by -7 to 1 MT.
Mentha Oil contract for JUL delivery settled at Rs 916/quintal showing an rise of Rs 0.6 over previous close of Rs 915.4/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 914-921.9 for the day. Open interest increased by 11 MT to 499 MT, while trading volume decreased by -85 to 108 MT.
Mentha Oil contract for AUG delivery settled at Rs 931.8/quintal showing an fall of Rs -1.6 over previous close of Rs 931.8/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 931-933 for the day. Open interest was simillar by 0 MT to 67 MT, while trading volume decreased by -13 to 0 MT.
Currently The spread between JUN and JUL contract is -11.1 Rs/quintal.
