Mumbai, 02 Jul 2024 (Commoditiescontrol): Mixed sentiments persisted in Moong across major trading centres, as buying activity lifted prices in Madhya Pradesh while increased arrivals pushed prices lower in Jaipur and Merta market of Rajsthan.
The Moong market in Madhya Pradesh has witnessed weak arrivals and steady demand. Active buying has supported prices in the state's major markets, including Indore and Bhopal. However, the situation is different in Rajasthan, where the quality of chamki mmong has influenced prices in Jaipur and Merta, leading to a mixed market trend.
Although prices have already fallen significantly, further declines from current levels are expected to be limited. The market is awaiting the resumption of government procurement, which is expected to happen in response to record production levels and the anticipated surge in kharif acreage. Until then, prices are likely to remain range-bound, with no significant increases expected.
The current market situation is a result of the balance between weak arrivals and steady demand, which has stabilized prices in Madhya Pradesh, while the quality factor has led to a mixed trend in Rajasthan.
