Ahmedabad, June 11 (CommoditiesControl): Gujarat is witnessing a continuous increase in the arrival of old coriander, contributing to stable prices in the market. According to traders, yesterday saw an arrival of 25,000 bags in Gondal Mandi, with 12,000 bags being old coriander and the remaining new. Today, Rajkot Mandi received 4,000 bags, out of which 1,500 bags were old coriander.
Despite this, the demand for coriander remains lackluster, keeping prices steady. Traders reported that out of the pending goods in Gondal, 5,325 bags (1 bag = 40kg) were traded at Rs 1,391-1,671 per 20 kg. In Rajkot Mandi, the 4,000 bags received were traded at Rs 1,220-1,540 per 20 kg. Across the state, the average price of coriander is currently ranging from Rs 1,350-1,530 per 20 kg.
Other markets also reported notable arrivals: Jamjodhpur received 1,400 bags, Junagadh 350 bags, Jetpur 600 bags, and various other markets accounted for around 2,800 bags, totaling 9,000 bags in Saurashtra today.
On the NCDEX at 12:58 pm, the June contract was trading at Rs 7,356, up by Rs 50, while the July contract was trading at Rs 7,472 per quintal, an increase of Rs 62.
Dhaniya contract for JUN delivery settled at Rs 7294/quintal showing an fall of Rs -12 over previous close of Rs 7306/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 7186-7384 for the day. Open interest decreased by -3125 MT to 5880 MT, while trading volume decreased by -220 to 4565 MT.
Dhaniya contract for JUL delivery settled at Rs 7418/quintal showing an rise of Rs 8 over previous close of Rs 7410/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 7350-7494 for the day. Open interest increased by 3435 MT to 25205 MT, while trading volume increased by 625 to 5795 MT.
Currently The spread between JUN and JUL contract is -124 Rs/quintal.
