Mumbai, June 11 (CommoditiesControl): Cardamom prices in major markets have fallen as buyers remain cautious following a recent sharp increase. The average price per kilogram has decreased from the previous session's Rs 2,546-2,550 to a range of Rs 2,443-2,503. However, the highest price per kilogram rose slightly to Rs 3,042 from Rs 3,010 in the previous session.
Despite a dramatic increase in arrivals previously, they have now decreased significantly. Arrivals fell from 116,562 kg in the previous session to 93,485 kg, with fewer supplies coming from stockists and dealers. Correspondingly, offtake also decreased from 109,582 kg to 89,249 kg. Nevertheless, the offtake rate increased to 95.5% from 94% in the previous session, indicating sustained high demand.
Specific grade rates have stabilized following the sharp increase. Prices for different grades of cardamom are as follows:
- 7 mm grades: Rs 2,020 to Rs 2,140 per kg
- 7-8 mm grades: Rs 2,200 to Rs 2,350 per kg
- 8 mm and above: Rs 2,586 to Rs 2,560 per kg
Overall, the market trends reflect a cautious buying approach amid fluctuating arrivals and sustained demand, contributing to the current price trends.
