Ahmedabad, June 14 (CommoditiesControl): The coriander market in Gujarat experienced a steady day in terms of prices despite significant arrivals. In the Gondal mandi, around 15,000 bags of coriander arrived, marking a notable arrival after several days of limited activity. Across Saurashtra, the total arrival was about 25,000 bags.
Traders note that while coriander arrivals are gradually decreasing, there is optimism among exporters that demand will pick up in the coming days, which could provide price support. For now, the market remains stable, reflecting limited demand.
Today, Saurashtra saw around 125,000 bags of coriander arrival, each bag weighing 40 kg, but the prices remained stable due to constrained demand. The average price of coriander in the state ranged from Rs 1350 to 1530 per 20 kg.
In Gondal Mandi, 15,000 bags arrived, with 5,768 bags traded at prices ranging from Rs 1381 to 1751 per 20 kg. In Rajkot Mandi, 3,000 bags were traded at Rs 1200 to 1450 per 20 kg, matching the arrival of 3,000 bags.
In other markets, Jamjodhpur Mandi saw an arrival of 1,100 bags, Junagadh Mandi had 2,400 bags, Jetpur Mandi received 500 bags, and around 2,700 bags arrived in other smaller markets. Overall, Saurashtra received a total of 25,000 bags today.
Dhaniya contract for JUN delivery settled at Rs 7416/quintal showing an rise of Rs 78 over previous close of Rs 7338/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 7410-7484 for the day. Open interest decreased by -645 MT to 600 MT, while trading volume decreased by -3685 to 410 MT.
Dhaniya contract for JUL delivery settled at Rs 7502/quintal showing an rise of Rs 68 over previous close of Rs 7434/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 7434-7570 for the day. Open interest increased by 340 MT to 30050 MT, while trading volume decreased by -1765 to 3330 MT.
Currently The spread between JUN and JUL contract is -86 Rs/quintal.
