Ahmedabad, June 28 (CommoditiesControl): The coriander market in Gujarat is experiencing a sluggish environment. Traders report that due to a lack of demand, prices have remained stable for the past two days. Even today, market activity was low with less selling. Gondal Mandi saw the arrival of 5,000 bags today, compared to 10,000 bags yesterday. Traders anticipate that as rains increase, the demand for coriander will decrease further. The market's future depends on upcoming selling trends.
Today, around 9,350 bags of coriander arrived in Saurashtra, with the average price ranging between Rs 1320-1520 per 20 kg across the state.
In Gondal Mandi, 4,900 out of 5,000 bags (1 bag = 40kg) were traded at prices between Rs 1351-1651 per 20 kg. Rajkot Mandi saw the arrival of 1,000 bags, with trades occurring at Rs 1200-1440. Jamjodhpur Mandi had an arrival of 300 bags, Junagadh Mandi had 900 bags, Jetpur had 150 bags, and other mandis collectively saw the arrival of around 1,800-2,000 bags.
Dhaniya contract for JUL delivery settled at Rs 7388/quintal showing an fall of Rs -12 over previous close of Rs 7400/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 7340-7432 for the day. Open interest decreased by -2205 MT to 21960 MT, while trading volume increased by 1890 to 3870 MT.
Dhaniya contract for AUG delivery settled at Rs 7464/quintal showing an fall of Rs -36 over previous close of Rs 7500/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 7434-7520 for the day. Open interest increased by 2700 MT to 10350 MT, while trading volume increased by 2065 to 3675 MT.
Currently The spread between JUL and AUG contract is -76 Rs/quintal.
