Cumin Prices in Gujarat Stable Due to Limited Demand

Ahmedabad, July 4 (CommoditiesControl): Cumin prices remained stable today due to limited demand for cumin in the state. A lack of export demand can be observed this month. Traders suggest that China's purchases are likely to be low in July, and if China exports cumin this month, it may indicate issues with their crop report.

The arrival of cumin in Unjha is within 10,000 bags, but due to a lack of demand, prices are not receiving support. According to traders, today there was an arrival of around 9,000 bags in Unjha Mandi. The price of rough cumin was Rs 4,500-5,000 per 20 kg, while the price of the best quality was Rs 5,200-5,250 per 20 kg. The price of Bombay Bold was Rs 5,250-5,350 per 20 kg. The total arrival from Gujarat was around 14,000 bags.

In Gondal Mandi, 358 bags of cumin were traded at Rs 5,351-5,421. In Rajkot Mandi, there was an arrival of around 1,200 bags, with prices ranging from Rs 4,500-5,436.



Jeeraunjha contract for JUL delivery settled at Rs 29155/quintal showing an rise of Rs 225 over previous close of Rs 28930/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 28755-29445 for the day. Open interest decreased by -21 MT to 2295 MT, while trading volume increased by 48 to 975 MT.

Jeeraunjha contract for AUG delivery settled at Rs 28565/quintal showing an rise of Rs 200 over previous close of Rs 28365/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 28130-28700 for the day. Open interest increased by 222 MT to 1812 MT, while trading volume increased by 117 to 741 MT.

Jeeraunjha contract for SEP delivery settled at Rs 28365/quintal showing an was simillar of Rs 0 over previous close of Rs 28365/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 28365-28365 for the day. Open interest increased by 3 MT to 6 MT, while trading volume increased by 3 to 3 MT.

Currently The spread between JUL and AUG contract is 590 Rs/quintal.

Currently The spread between AUG and SEP contract is 200 Rs/quintal.

Currently The spread between JUL and SEP contract is 790 Rs/quintal.
