Ahmedabad, July 5 (CommoditiesControl): The coriander market in Gujarat experienced a stable environment today, attributed to a combination of reduced arrivals due to rain and low demand. Traders indicate that despite the decreased supply, the market has not seen an increase in prices due to the lack of demand. Currently, the market's future depends on the demand expected during the upcoming festival season.
In Saurashtra, around 7,600 bags of coriander arrived today. The average price of coriander in the state remained between Rs 1300-1500 per 20 kg.
At the Gondal market, 5,000 bags of coriander were received today, and with the addition of pending goods, a total of 6,562 bagg, each weighing 40 kg, were traded at prices ranging from Rs 1371 to Rs 1701 per 20 kg. Traders in Gondal reported that around 30,000 bags of pending goods are still lying in the market. Meanwhile, in the Rajkot Mandi, 800 bags arrived, and the trading prices ranged between Rs 1210 and Rs 1385.
Additionally, 300 bags were received in Jamjodhpur Mandi, 250 bags in Junagadh Mandi, and 250 bags in Jetpur Mandi, with another 1,000 bags from surrounding areas.
Dhaniya contract for JUL delivery settled at Rs 7204/quintal showing an rise of Rs 2 over previous close of Rs 7202/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 7168-7240 for the day. Open interest decreased by -1080 MT to 17675 MT, while trading volume increased by 590 to 2730 MT.
Dhaniya contract for AUG delivery settled at Rs 7308/quintal showing an rise of Rs 2 over previous close of Rs 7306/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 7262-7348 for the day. Open interest increased by 1115 MT to 14660 MT, while trading volume increased by 1095 to 2895 MT.
Currently The spread between JUL and AUG contract is -104 Rs/quintal.
