Mumbai, April 30 (Commoditiescontrol): The global zinc market saw its surplus widen considerably in February, reaching 40,100 metric tons. This represents a substantial increase from the 12,300-ton surplus recorded in January, according to new data released by the International Lead and Zinc Study Group (ILZSG).
The surplus is even more striking when analyzing the first two months of the year. A total surplus of 53,000 tons has been recorded, a sharp reversal from the 8,000-ton deficit seen during the same period in 2023.
